I love shooting NFL games. The intensity is unmatched. During a recent game between the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium I captured a series of images that shows just how intense any given play can be. In the third quarter Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky moved to his right and threw a 27-yard pass into the end zone. The ball was intended for tight-end Dion Sims but Ravens safety Tony Jefferson covered him perfectly. They fought for possession but Sims came down with the football and with the touchdown, giving his team a 17-3 lead with 6:01 left in the quarter. I didn’t realize just how close this play actually was until I was in the editing process.  The Bears won the game 27-24 in OT. The six photos below were shot within about 2.5 seconds from start to finish. Canon 1DX Mark II, 300mm @ 2.8 lens, 1/2700 sec, ISO 400.
